Weapons Refinement/Ornament Binding Guide [Update Balance]
Author - amresh2k
Ok I am tired of people asking me about how to attach ornaments to slotted weapons. Some newbies also do not know where to find the materials for lvl1 & 2 refinement. Here is a post that will address this, it may not be complete. I will keep adding stuff to this post.
Weapons can be of many types:
Rating: Damaged, Crude, Worn, Good, Fine, Superior
These words mean how are the stats requirements changed for a weapon. For e.g. A Damaged Raven sword can be used at lower lvl than a superior Raven Sword. A superior sword will deal more damage and its requirements will be higher also. But a superior weapon can be refined with a higher chance of success. Good, Fine, Superior weapons refine success rate is higher. Also I must add that more slots your weapon has there is a chance of breakage on refinement. However thats only when refine is above +5.
Color: Green, Blue These weapons add stats to your damage, essence, HP, Str, Dex etc. You may have seen unknown warrior's blue devil gloves or Wild goose sabers. These weapons deal as much damage than the superior weapons and can be used at lower lvl than that required by the same superior weapon.
OR A combination of the above Green Weapon with slots. Crude Axe with-out slots etc. Here is a green weapon refined:
As you can see it has +4 refine, a slot with a White Tiger Insignia Ornament attached. It sells in Hangzhou for black clans. Hangzhou is a very dangerous journey if you are lower lvl.
Also be careful when you refine slotted weapons, they are likely to break too. Once my FD friend broke her green FD6 gloves on a +3 refine. I have had success till now with +3. If you are really finicky, safer bet is to buy refined weapons.
TIPS
I would advise to repair your weapon before refinement. You can get them repaired at any smithy or a drapery (ty oddparent).
Green/blue weapons are more likely to break than the normal weapons on refinement.
Always try to buy weapons from other players esp. heifei. DON'T BUY EM FROM NPCs.
Don't refine Wan Daye's weapons. You have spent enough BE aready to get it.
Refinement steps 1. For lvl 1 and lvl 2 refine you DO NOT NEED blood essence. You need to buy them from the general store in heifei. One sells for 1000G and other at 3000G.
Here are they
DON'T BUY THEM FROM OTHER PLAYERS. Unless you get a lower price than these.
Level 3 and above materials can be had from the refinement materials merchant.
After refinement materials collection move to the master refiner. At the time of refinement you need to have 3 things in your bag: 1. Weapon 2. Refinement material or dragon blood. 3. Money to pay the refiner.
Now max +9 refinement is possible, you may see some weapons in screen shots having more refinement but as of now its not possible.
Slotted weapons: Best method would be to demonstrate by example 1. Here is a slotted weapon:
(Btw there wont be an arrow or text like above I drew it for demonstration )
2. And here is a non slotted one
In order to combine a ornament you will need a combining tool. These are sold at all the general stores. Here is one:
Here are examples of weapon/wardrobe ornaments:
(ty noamto for this wardrobe ornament)
IMP The wolf skin grip can be bought in village in your clan base. Do not buy the white tiger ornament from player stands in Heifei, i think its a bad way of making money and should be discouraged. Also you can similar crit rate from the wolf skin grip and at a much lower price.
All these ornaments can be bought. There are some ornaments that you will get from Quests RL/SM level. They are good for HP. I got an Un-known swordsman's talisman Crit 1/10,000 in RL. It was a very lousy one needless to say. Don't use it.
Now what you need for ornament binding is: 1. A weapon with slot(s). 2. Ornament(s) as per how many slots weapon has. 3. Binding tool.
Steps to bind 1. Go to peace mode. 2. Right click on the combing tool. 3. Right click on the weapon to bind 4. Right click on the ornament(s). 5. It wud look something like this once you have done steps 1-4
6. Click on Bind Ornaments
So once you are all done with your refinement and binding ornaments, your weapon will look something like this.
NOW GO N HACK EM ALL PEOPLES!!!!!!
Added later:
BALANCE
Weapon balance is a measure of how many ext wounds you will get while fighting mobs. I tried myself while fighting yellow mobs I noticed I had gotten Ext Wounds when I used a saber. Then I changed to gloves(suitable for my role) I did not get any ext wounds. I have seen Pole-arms, Swords, Spears and Sabers have less balance than gloves/ axes. Similarly Wheels have less balance than daggers. Here are examples of weapons of the same level:
