5 Steps to Not Suck

Face it, we're all been n00b before, so try not to make them feel too bad about it. It's frustrating at times playing with n00bs, but if they bring a good attitude, help them out. Thanks. As for you n00bs out there reading this, if your teammate's obviously better than you (aka: not a n00b), be patient, ask him for help, and most of all WATCH HIM PLAY. I cannot emphasize this enough. You can only stop being a n00b if you watch and learn. Also, if you're wondering whether you are a n00b, be safe about it and read this guide.

Presenting... The N00b Guide:

1. Get this skill: "Through Pass". Then, go make sure it's equipped. Don't ask why, just do it. It's a game mechanic thing that makes your teammates 900% better if you have this skill. Think of it as a magical skill that allows you to get kicked out of less rooms. Equip it, quit being n00b. Oh, and use it. You use the super awesome "Through Pass" skill by pushing the S button. Use it often. You are a n00b. Quit hogging the ball.

2. Don't complain. Other people are better than you at this game. That's a fact. Go to "Mini-Game" at the bottom right of your interface and practice blocking shots. Then enter a game and try to block some shots without falling for fakes. Watch. Learn. Ask questions. Don't complain. Lag exists. Don't complain. People look like they're hacking and doing other ridiculous things. For the most part, they're not, so be on the safe side and just don't complain. Ask questions. Learn. Watch. Explain to your teammate that you're new at this game and ask for tips. Learn how to time blocking for each type of shot. Be patient. Don't complain.

3. It's called "The Shooter's Guide to Shoot on the Run" by MunkTheQuick. Simply holding D is very n00b-ish and you will shoot a low %. This guide teaches you how to "step", which raises your fg% by a good 10% in general. Contrary to our intuitions, shooting this way in this game is actually MUCH more accurate than simply standing in an open area and holding D. It is also very easy for your teammates to tell if you are shooting this way. So, if you're not shooting this way, they will call you a n00b, and you will deserve it. Now, go into "Free Training Mode" (lower right corner of interface) and practice shooting this way, just like the guide tells you to. EVERY shot you take should be "stepped" this way.

4. Stop dropping the ball. If you are dribbling and your opponent is in face-up position (go check out that skill, you start with it), you WILL lose the ball. Pushing A makes you lose the ball even fast. Losing the ball will make your teammates call you a n00b. Stop doing this. Instead, start trying to face-up your opponents. This will make THEM lose the ball. Your teammates will like you more for it.

5. Stop falling down. If you fall down on defense, your opponent gets an open 3 and your teammates hate you. This is a fact. To fall down less, don't run into people in face-up or box-out poses. Also, don't touch other players. You cannot fall down if you don't touch another player. Holding W also makes you fall down less, but you get your ankles broken more if guarding a G, so watch out for that. Seriously, stop being a n00b. Quit falling down so often, n00b.

Now, you will officially stop being a n00b when you can average the following stats:
G: 38% 3pt%, 2assists, .5blocks.
F: 63% fg%, 2assists, 3rebounds, 1block
C: 2assists, 6rebounds, 1block
