To make those neat little 16X16 Icons every guild has flying next to their name is quite easy.
Make a few images that you would like to have as your Guild Icon, crop to equal horizontal and vertical dimensions
(pictures/drawings) so you can easily edit your choices.
You can use pictures, colored graphics ie. like a flag, Letters with different colored backgrounds,
all sorts of stuff even clipart images you have Down Loaded from a web site.
Edit your selections and use reducing feature on a graphics program to take to a 16X16 size.
Make a new folder and name it "My Icons" . Place it in your HERO folder and put your 16x16 graphics in it.
MAKE SURE you use a "bmp" file extension on all your graphics you have made as jpeg, gif and png File extensions will not work.

If you are an active Guild Master you will be able to click on the [ find ] button on right side of precepts line
on information page of guild interface.
When you click on find you will be give the names of the folders
in your HERO main folder, chose the folder you put your graphics in and you will see a
list of the graphic files you made and put in there.
Pick one and click ok, it will tell you that the file is ok to use if it is made properly.
Click ok again to get out of guild page and you should have your guild graphic up and running.

Setting size/Cropping a project in paint
To change or set the size of your picture/ Icon project
First choose new or open from file tab to start a project.
1. On the Image menu, click Attributes.
2. Under Units, click the unit of measurement (pixel) you want to use for the width and height.
3. Type the measurements in Width and Height.
4. Such as 16x16 and use zoom tool to zoom to 800% to be able to color in pixel by pixel
You can also resize your picture by dragging the image resize handles, located at the
lower-right corner and along the bottom and right sides of your picture.
(You might need to maximize the window to see the square resize handles.)
If your current picture is bigger than the new size, the picture is cut from the
right side and bottom to fit within the smaller area.
If your current picture is smaller than the new size,
the extra area is filled with the selected background color.

To type and format text:
You can only enter text into an image when you are in normal view.
To display the normal view, on the View menu, point to Zoom, and then click Normal size.
1. In the toolbox, click Text .
2. To create a text frame, drag the pointer diagonally to the size you want.
3. On the text toolbar, click the font, size, and style you want for the text.
If the text toolbar is not displayed, on the View menu, click Text Toolbar.

You can drag the toolbar to any location in the window.
4. Type your text. You can also paste text into a text box, but not graphics.
5. The color of the text is defined by the foreground color.
To make the background of the text transparent, click on transparent tool icon.
To make the background opaque and defined by the background color, click on opaque tool icon.
6. Notes
? You can enter text in a text box only once. When you click outside the box,
the text is converted to a graphic image and you cannot make it active again.
? To change the color of the text, click a color in the color box.
? To undo up to three changes, on the Edit menu, click Undo for each change.
This is just a Small amount of the information on Paint help that will get you
started making you own icons for HERO ONLINE.
Remember to use ctl+s to save your work often as you progress to your final image.

There is so much to list in the "Paint Help File" I can only go this far, the
rest will have to be researched by you while doing your icon.
