Over The Rainbow
Note: Over The Rainbow is sung by The TRAX. Usually I don't do stories with music for games, but this song seemed really fitting. I've used the English translated lyrics, by the way.
“Do you know why the rain comes? It’s because someone is praying for all your sadness to be erased to comfort you”
A young girl sat on the hill overlooking the Saint Morning arena. She stared blankly at the people down in the area below her, laughing and smiling. She sighed. The person who used to sit with her wasn’t here anymore. A tear slid off her cheek. She looked up; it began to rain. ‘Way to add to the mood’, she thought. Her rain-- the person who gave her happiness, who gave her a reason to live in this world, was gone. To make things worse, she was betrayed by this world, by people she trusted, by people close to her. She turned to the left, to where the person used to sit. ‘She must be busy now’. She smiled at the thought. The rain began to slow.
“If I become dirty, I’m afraid you will become dirty too, because you follow me like you always do.”
The first say was still so vivid in her memory. Talking to some friends in the warm town of Flaris, a girl appeared behind her. She turned and smiled.
A few weeks later, sitting at the hill by the arena in Saint Morning was a every day must. They talked about everything that was anything. Their habits melted together, their actions seemed more and more like each other’s.
“Mm, nee-sama…” the girl began. “Yes, Mizu?” the other turned and asked the younger. “How… do you solve this?” The younger held up the book she was scribbling in.
”Ah…”
“When the rain comes, think of me. Will that give you strength? I’ve left and my trace is over the rainbow.”
“I don’t like the rain.” Mizu remembered herself commenting. “I wish it would stop.” The older smiled. The rain stopped.
But now she is gone…
The rain now is no longer a nuisance. A calm sweeps over the girl on the hill. The rain brings her now to a place she has never been before. Closer to the people she cared about, so far away from her grasp.
Mizu clasped her hands and prayed for a chance for the former happy times to return.
“Do you know why the rain comes? It’s because someone is praying for all your sadness to be erased. So that I can comfort you… I’ll be your rain.” |
