Summoner or Mage

Stat-wise Summoners are the best PvPers Cora has to offer, mainly because of their summons which pwn something fierce with Paimon teh uber tank, Inanna for saving monies on pots, Hecate the crit beast, and Isis with damage close to a BMAU. Problems with these folks? Well, takes a good long while to get their summons to decent levels (40-42ish), main damage dealer Isis has a glass jaw, and Summoners are squishy. Oh, and Paimon is still somewhat of a pain to level.
Warlocks are the self-suffcient burst damage mages for Cora (don't believe me? lvl 30+ caster w/ might and caster buff and using int 30 staff drops a clod in 3-4 expert spells). The main point behind Warlocks is aside from having crazy mad spike damage, they are awesome AoE blasters which Summoners lack a bit. Stone curse is also nice, takes an enemy out of the fight for a few to a couple of precious seconds to drop his buddies. They also have much better HP compared to summoners. Problems? They're bad against rangers since all of their power is force, if a guy can outpot your spells, then its /gg
Overall, it's really a measure of time and money. If you've got both to spare, then go Summoner. Otherwise, Warlock's good for ya.

After the staff damage nerf and mob elemental resist increase casters get the shaft hard. If you really want to go warlock at 40 you should class to summoner at 30 then redefine to caster before you promote at 40.
Now as for damage Warlocks do a lot more damage than graziers. Only problem is surviving long enough to cast 2 spells before you lay into them with attacks; elemental burn and skill revoke for Acc or confusion and elemental burn for Bells.
As for which works better in PvP go Summoner > Grazier hecate rocks with her high accuracy, stun rate, and dodge and isis does major damage.
Now for the other posters comments about taking awhile to level pets Inanna levels insanely fast at first when you use her to heal all the time but gets slower the more worthless she becomes; hecate is moderatly fast can get her to lvl 45 in about a day or so, Isis is insanely fast too just about everyone on wind server can get a isis from lvl 1 to 45 in about a day and make 50 within a week of getting her.( I think at last count there was 26 active level 50 Isis on wind atm). Now paimon is a pain to level since he gets xp only when he gets hit and it doesnt seem to be alot of xp when he gets higher levels unlike the rest of them.
Now why rangers are a problem. Really high elemental resist even with GM elemental burn you will still only do about half the damage you do to good melee fighters. Acc are the only ones that can turn rangers into dust easly with elemental attacks because their battle leader(?) gets a special attack that inverts elemental resists (that lovely 200 elemental resist you have turns into -200 of course very funny when used on someone with negative elemental resist  )
